Festus’s First Side Healed. What Happens to the Remaining Keloids?

“The right side healed. Now we can move forward.” In this chapter of Festus’s Bumpinator story, Sanusi Umar, MD, Dr. U, provides an update following the procedure performed on the right side of Festus’s head and neck. Dr. U explains that the procedure on the right side succeeded and that the treated area was allowed to heal. Rather than immediately proceeding to the other side, the clinical team monitored the area for several months. According to Dr. U, the treated side healed successfully, and the work involving Festus’s cheek also appeared to have progressed well. That response became an important part of the next clinical decision. Encouraged by what he observed, Dr. U explains that he now intends to use the same procedure on the remaining keloids affecting the left side of Festus’s neck and head. Dr. U describes the approach as a unique procedure that he developed at Dr. U Skin & Hair Clinic for this highly complex keloid case. This chapter is not a guarantee that every treated area or every patient will respond in the same way. It documents how healing and several months of monitoring helped guide the decision to proceed to the next stage in Festus’s individual case. This is one patient’s experience. This content is educational and does not replace an individual medical evaluation. Results can vary. Complex keloid treatment should be individualized and physician-led.
